Come dive into the colorful world of Hindi Cinema with us.
This advanced Hindi class will introduce you to some of the unforgettable Hindi-language songs, discuss their lyrics, and study their cultural and aesthetic contexts. Students will have an opportunity to lead a classroom discussion on the song of their choosing.
Catalog Description:
Discussion and analysis of popular songs from movies, folk, devotional, seasonal, and festival songs within their cultural context with attention to rhetoric and aesthetics. Recommended: ability to speak Hindi; and read and write in the Devanagari script.
