Catalog Description:
Introduces Japanese avant-garde and contemporary culture, with particular focus on performance, the visual arts, literature, and film, through topics organized according to a specific theme or focused on a relatively limited time period. Students learn current approaches to modern and contemporary creative cultures with emphasis on understanding texts and works within their social and historical contexts.
