Biography
Vishnupriya’s research interest is to explore the social and cultural dynamics of Braj, particularly the impact of modernisation and commercialisation on its enduring heritage, with a focus on its literature. She has done intensive work in Raslila (traditional theatre of Braj) under INTACH (Indian National Trust for Cultural Heritage).
Vishnupriya is also an Indian classical (Odissi) dancer. She secured her Visharad degree (equivalent to BA) from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and is a graded artiste of Doordarshan (autonomous public service broadcaster). Her dance practice seamlessly intertwines with her academic pursuits, enabling her to articulate the cultural narratives of Braj through expressive artistry.
