Jakub Mackowiak

I was born and raised in Lublin, Poland. I graduated from the University of Warsaw, the Warsaw School of Economics, and Sichuan University. My academic interests focus on what I call the “border zones” of literature — areas where literature intersects with, and sometimes conflicts with, politics, public administration, and the media. I research how literature shapes public perceptions of history and national identity, as well as the public image of prominent figures. In the past, I was also interested in economics, examining differences between central banking systems in capitalist and socialist economies.
