Ben Rost (he/they)

Ben joined the Asian Languages and Literature team after completing an MA in Southeast Asian Studies at UW in 2023, with a thesis focused on the changing social and political contours of Khmer language and literature over the past century. Prior to starting at UW, he worked with the farmers' markets in Seattle, and previously spent four years living and working in Cambodia. Outside of his role at AL&L, Ben works regular shifts at The Bikery and partners with the Khmer Community of Seattle King County (KCSKC) in their translation and other language access work.
