AL&L's Professor Ungsan Kim was recently featured in a Northwest Asian Weekly article, "Halloween debate: Are Asian horror films scarier?" Prof. Kim, whose research spans Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, and inter-Asian cinemas, in addition to queer cinema, genre films, experimental cinema, and media cultures of Asia more broadly, spoke with Northwest Asian Weekly's Kai Curry about what it is that audiences find so compelling about horror films.
Read the article at Northwest Asian Weekly, and keep an eye out for a follow-up article with some of Prof. Kim's horror film recommendations!
