Professor Nazry Bahrawi has been quoted throughout an article published in the South China Morning Post, titled "Blackface cases in Singapore spark outrage, calls to plug racial awareness gaps." In the article, Prof. Bahrawi offers insights into the cultural and social underpinnings of continued incidents of racism and discrimination within Singapore's multiracial society, suggesting that systemic change will require "a cultural sea-change involving non-punitive measures such as centring the voices of ethnic minorities, empowering rather than punishing them when they speak publicly, even angrily, about racism and discrimination."
