Since it was established in 2018 with the support of a group of devoted community members, the Friends of Sanskrit fund has supported continued instruction in Sanskrit at UW as well as programming to connect the local community with UW’s Sanskrit scholarship. The Friends of Sanskrit at UW fund has enabled us to hire a Sanskrit lecturer, so that the Department can continue to offer all levels of the language as well as courses on various aspects of Sanskritic culture and literature. Our ability to continue this program in the future depends on continuing support from the community.
