Shelby House is a doctoral student in Sociocultural Anthropology. She has completed Hindi-Urdu programs at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Wisconsin-Madison's South Asia Summer Language Institute (SASLI), the American Institute of Indian Studies-Lucknow, and the American Institute of Pakistan Studies/UC-Berkeley Urdu Language Program in Pakistan (BULPIP) at the Lahore University of Management Sciences. She has previously taught elementary and intermediate Urdu classes at SASLI and the University of Washington, and she recently worked as an Urdu scenario writer for the Regional Flagship Language Initiative's Culture Initiative.
