The Department of Asian Languages and Literature at the University of Washington seeks to appoint a 0.75 FTE part-time Lecturer in Bengali. The initial appointment, beginning Autumn Quarter 2019, is for a one year, renewable if mutually agreeable.
Applicants must have at least an M.A. or M.S. degree (or foreign equivalent), native or native-equivalent proficiency in Bengali, English fluency, and at least five years of experience teaching at the college or university level. The successful applicant will be expected to teach Bengali language at all levels and to develop curricula and teaching materials. University of Washington faculty members engage in both teaching and service. This position is non-tenure-track and has a 9-month (September 16th – June 15th) service period.
