The Department of Asian Languages and Literature at the University of Washington is pleased to announce:

The Japan Foundation Standard Familiarization Workshop

Time and Date: 9:00 AM – 4:15 PM on Saturday, February 15, 2014  (Registration begins at 8:30am)

Speaker: Ms. Tomoyo Shibahara, Japanese language adviser at the Japan Foundation, São Paulo.

The goal of this one-day workshop is an introduction to the Japan Foundation Standard. The speaker will compare the JF Standard with the ACTFL Standards and discuss how the JF Standard may be adopted in accordance with the institutional needs. 

**Please note that all proceedings will take place in Japanese.

About the Speaker: Ms. Shibahara is the Japanese language adviser at the Japan Foundation, Sao Paulo.  She has worked on many courses for Japanese language teachers and projects of materials development in Japan and overseas since 1995.  She is one of the co-authors of “Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture.”
